Your timing belt should be replaced every 90-115,000 miles depending on the manufacturers specifications.  In an interference engine, the valves and piston share the same air space. They never touch, unless your timing belt breaks or skips. If a belt breaks of skips, this results in a catastrophic failure that requires removing the head and replacing bent valves which can be very costly. In a non-interference engines, timing belts also need regular replacement to avoid costly repairs or being left stranded on the side of the road. Regardless of your engine type, we follow the manufacturers specs when replacing your timing belt, idlers and tensioners.
